Lord Montegue, the 4th earl of sandwich was a very busy man and he would call for a slice of beef in between two slices of bread because he didn't want to spend time eating. He needed something he could eat holding in one hand, so that he could go through his work while eating. Eventually word spread about this new food and it became popular very fast. And people called it a sandwich after the man who invented it. It is also said that He gambled a lot and would eat a sandwich while gambling, and that this is how it spread.
I'm actually surprised that nobody thought of sandwiches before him. It's so simple and good. And i didn't know that it was named after a person. Sandwiches are one of my favorite foods. They come in many different types and can be good for your health. Know who invented the sandwich might not be such a useful piece of information but i think that it was a nice little fact to find out.

Blood, Bones, and Butter
The book I chose to read is called "Blood, Bones, and Butter" written by Gabrielle Hamilton. She is the chef and owner of prune, a restaurant in New York. I chose this book because it had some great reviews and i thought it would be a good read.
This is a non-fiction novel about Gabrielle Hamilton and her life so far.
She talks about the town she grew up in, in Pennsylvania. When she was a kid her family would have the same party every year, where they roasted little lambs. She lived in a country town and her house was built on a ruined mill. She grew up on farmland and food had been around her since she was little. There was beautiful scenery around her house.
She was the youngest in her family and she had 4 siblings. Her french mother would cook them dinner every night. Her mother would cook really good dishes and she had a special kitchen too.
Did you grow up on the country?
Do you like your mother's food?

French Food Market
I watched a video about the fresh food market in Paris. A lot of them are roaming markets, that are called "Yaoya" in japan. Most people in Paris shop daily and cook fresh food everyday.
I admire the french for their food. I think it would be great to be cooking fresh foods everyday, it would taste incredible. They come straight from the farms and everything is sold to be eaten that day. I wonder how good the food in France would be with all these great food markets.
Even the restaurants shop there since their food is the best you can get. This video made me really want to go to France, and try some of their food.
Food Aphorisms
The best quote has to be the one by Gandhi.
"There are people in the world so hungry, that cannot appear to them except on the form of bread"
Some people in the world can't even have hope since they are struggling so hard to survive each day. Gandhi has said some very wise things and i think that this is one of his best quotes. It would be awesome if all the starving people could get food and water at the least. It is sad that half the food in japan is wasted while people starve in other places.
Another aphorism that i thought was good is by George Bush.
"i do not like broccoli. And I haven't like it since i was a little kid and my mother made me eat it. I'm the President of the United States and I'm not going to eat anymore broccoli"
Everybody has a food that they don't like, or most. And i think taste varies from person to person after all, different people find different things delicious. Personally I don't think broccoli is that great too, but i can eat it still.
Picnic at yoyogi park
I went on a picnic to Yoyogi park with my classmates. It was a potluck so we all brought some food, but the weather was not so great. It was my first time going to Yoyogi park and Mr.Diaz showed us around a few places in the park. The place was quite large and seemed like a lovely place to go on a walk and have a cup of tea.
We found a place near a tree and ate lunch there. I brought some sushi i got at the super market. While we were eating Mr.Diaz showed us his amazing juggling skills.
After i finished eating i tried juggling but i failed. But i had lots of fun.
